I’m going to share my story because I hope it helps someone out there avoid making the same mistake.
Since early 2026, my plan was simple: spot-buy BTC, ETH, and SOL at lower levels starting around $50K because there was a lot of talk about Bitcoin potentially dropping below $50K in October.
Then in August, when BTC was around $64K I thought, “Why not open a small short and make some profit to buy more spot?”
The market went up. I lost. Instead of accepting the loss, I opened another short, convinced myself it was a bull trap. Then another. And another.
Eventually, I lost around $15,000. From there I fell into revenge trading, kept trying to recover my losses and ultimately lost my entire life savings.
The lesson is: if your plan or strategy fails don’t FOMO and keep trading emotionally. Stop. Stop. Stop. Step away. Take your time and reassess everything VERY CAREFULLY before making another decision.
It’s easy to say and incredibly hard to do when you’re in the middle of it. The market will always be there. There will always be another opportunity. But your money can disappear very quickly.
I lost the savings I had worked hard to build over the years, money I believed could have doubled or tripled during the next bull run. Now I have to start from scratch, and I currently don’t have a source of income.
I just hope sharing this helps someone else avoid making the same mistake. It still feels so unreal like I’m living through a nightmare.
Please pray for me.
