$ZEC
Brother, what’s been happening with Zcash (ZEC) these days has been a violent roller coaster, but there are very clear reasons behind the recent volatility and drop:
1. The Previous Parabolic Rally (The massive surge)
ZEC had been coming off an impressive rally, reaching a high near $1,700 USD in late September. This wild move was driven by the privacy narrative and, above all, by the launch and speculation around Grayscale’s spot Zcash ETF (ZCSH) and new filings such as the one from Winklevoss.
2. Why did it suddenly stall/drop? (The crash)
After touching nearly $1,700, the coin quickly fell back toward the $1,300 - $1,330 USD area (a pullback of more than 20%). This happened for three main reasons:
Massive ETF Outflows: After weeks of buying, Grayscale’s ETF (ZCSH) recorded its first significant net outflows of capital (nearly $94 million withdrawn). When institutional funds take profits and redeem shares, they return thousands of ZEC to the market, creating enormous selling pressure.
Fierce Profit-Taking: After such a parabolic rise, traders who got in low dumped positions en masse as soon as they saw the first weekly red candle.
Futures Liquidation Effect: Leverage was heavily skewed toward buys (longs). When minor supports at $1,450 and $1,390 broke, cascades of stop-losses and automatic liquidations were triggered, accelerating the drop within hours.
Where are we now and what should we expect?
Key Support ($1,250 - $1,280 USD): That is the short-term "life or death" zone. If it holds above $1,280 - $1,300, the price could consolidate and try to bounce toward $1,400 - $1,450 USD.
Downside Risk: If the market loses $1,250 USD, the immediate bullish structure breaks completely and it could go looking for liquidity much lower (toward $1,120 or $1,000 USD).
