NEAR Intents user payments surpass $29 million, is real “cash flow” finally here?
A recent data point in the NEAR ecosystem is worth paying attention to:
According to the latest disclosure, since the fee mechanism was adjusted in February 2026, the fees paid by NEAR Intents users have already exceeded $29 million, of which about $5.3 million has been used for open-market buybacks of NEAR.
Even more aggressively, in September alone, the buyback amount reached approximately $1.84 million, up about 2.5 times from August’s $723,000.
So what does this mean?
NEAR Intents isn’t just telling a “cross-chain” and “AI” story—it has started generating relatively clear fee revenue.
Currently, NEAR Intents’ trading volume over the past 30 days is about $4.4 billion, and cumulative fees have already exceeded $52 million.
With the adjustment to the fee mechanism, a portion of the revenue NEAR receives will be used to buy back NEAR in the market, creating a more direct link between Intents usage and token value capture.
That said, don’t ignore the risks: in early October, NEAR Intents suffered an approximately $3.8 million exploit. The team then patched the contracts and promised full compensation.
$2.9 billion, $29 million, buybacks of NEAR…
What NEAR is most worth watching now may not be whether the “AI narrative” can be realized, but whether Intents can continuously convert real trading volume into sustained income.
