At the DAS conference hosted by Blockworks, Hyperliquid founder Jeff stated clearly, “Options are an opportunity in on-chain trading that’s worth continuing to develop.” He noted that options play an important role in traditional finance, but on-chain products have yet to reach “escape velocity.” Developers can build products around this market to make it easier for traders to hedge spot positions with perpetual contracts.

Lighter has also had options on its roadmap for some time. Founder Vlad Novakovski said explicitly in a previous interview that options are an important part of Lighter’s roadmap, and discussed the possibility of products such as options on pre-IPO stocks.
