Ethereum breaks below several support levels; $2,565 is the bulls’ last line of defense
Ethereum is weaker than Bitcoin today
ETH has fallen back to around $2,560, down nearly 2% over the past 24 hours. At one point, it tested the $2,540 area.
The market is now focused on one level: $2,565.
If ETH can reclaim this level, it would suggest that buyers are still willing to step in during the decline, potentially paving the way for a technical rebound.
But if ETH continues to trade below $2,565, its short-term structure will clearly weaken.
More concerningly, Ethereum has recently been affected not only by the broader market downturn but also by pressure from outflows.
Relevant data shows net outflows of more than $200 million from Ethereum ETFs.
This suggests some traditional investors have chosen to temporarily exit at higher prices.
Some say this means institutions are bearish on ETH. I don’t think we can draw that conclusion so simply.
Outflows sometimes just reflect profit-taking, or investors waiting for a better entry price.
But for short-term traders, the result is the same:
With fewer buyers, the price is more easily pushed down by sell orders.
ETH’s problem right now isn’t a lack of a long-term story, but a shortage of strong short-term catalysts.
Bitcoin still has macro-driven inflows and a safe-haven narrative, while Ethereum must contend with ETF flows, competition across its ecosystem, and questions around token value capture.
Just a few days ago, the market was debating whether ETH could surge back toward $2,700. Now the question is whether it can hold $2,565.
That’s the reality of the crypto market:
Prices never move according to everyone’s expectations.
If ETH can reclaim and hold above $2,565, with trading volume starting to recover, the next rebound targets could be the $2,600–$2,650 range.
If $2,565 turns into resistance, the next support levels to watch are around $2,540 and even $2,500.
It’s not the time to buy the dip just because something looks “cheap.”
The best entry point has never been where the price has fallen the most, but where selling pressure starts to fade and buyers return.
For ETH in the short term, watch whether it can reclaim $2,565. Don’t rush to call a reversal before it gets back above that level.
