Taiko’s Proposal 39 has passed the community veto window and been executed on both Ethereum L1 and Taiko L2. According to Odaily, the upgrade adds Permit and Permit2 support to the Taiko bridge’s ERC20Vault, allowing users to bridge tokens without submitting a separate Approve transaction.
The update also raises the gas limit for Ether payments on the Taiko bridge and deploys a new BridgedERC20V2 template on both L1 and L2. Taiko said the related functions have completed end-to-end testing across ETH, ERC20, ERC721 and ERC1155 assets, as well as bidirectional bridging scenarios.
