#FrenchHill敦促跛脚鸭会期通过CLARITY法案
The CLARITY Act isn’t “dead” yet. Its real final window may be at the end of this year.
French Hill, chair of the U.S. House Financial Services Committee, recently said he still hopes Congress will use the post-election lame-duck session to advance the CLARITY Act. The Senate failed to advance the bill on September 15, with 49 votes in favor and 50 against.
Hill believes that although the SEC and CFTC have recently begun promoting the development of the crypto market through regulatory rules and exemptions, these administrative policies cannot replace a long-lasting law passed by Congress.
What really matters to the crypto industry is that the CLARITY Act could further clarify the SEC’s and CFTC’s regulatory boundaries over digital assets and establish more stable market structure rules for the U.S. crypto market.
I don’t think this news should be taken as a sign that “BTC is about to rise” in the short term. The biggest variables right now are whether the two parties can resolve disputes over ethics, consumer protection, stablecoin yields, and other issues, and whether the Senate can once again muster enough votes to advance the bill.
But if a breakthrough does happen during the lame-duck session at the end of the year, the market may be trading on more than just a bill—it may be pricing in the expectation that “U.S. crypto regulation is moving from policy guidance to a formal legal framework.”
Do you think the CLARITY Act still has a chance of moving forward again at the end of this year?
