Samsung Electronics is bringing USDC to its mobile wallet.

In a statement on October 7, Samsung Electronics America said Galaxy Wallet will add the ability to buy, hold, and send USDC. The initial rollout will cover 82 million compatible devices in the United States, with launch scheduled for the last week of October. Samsung will charge no fees for transfers to external wallets, while transfers to bank accounts in more than 60 countries will be charged based on the destination. On- and off-ramps for fiat currency will be built directly into the wallet. Custody and compliance will be handled by licensed partners; Samsung made clear that it is not a bank and does not hold users’ assets. Solana and Sui both appear on the list of supported networks, but neither has disclosed how traffic will be allocated between them.

On-chain context: Solana’s ($SOL ) stablecoin supply has grown by nearly 20% year over year, and cumulative stablecoin transaction volume in 2026 has exceeded $5.25 trillion.

The significance here lies in distribution. For years, stablecoins have been about how to create them; how many devices come with them preinstalled determines who will use them. 82 million devices represent an operating-system-level entry point: users don’t need to download another app or manage their own private keys. #Stablecoins
