Lesson 48 of 100 — From my experience in the market
How do you write your investment plan on one page?
Everything we’ve learned comes together in one simple tool: a plan written on a single page. Answer these five questions — calmly:
1️⃣ Goal and time frame: Why am I investing? (To grow my savings over the years? To learn with a small amount?) — Your answer determines everything that follows.
2️⃣ Amount: How much of my savings am I putting into this market? What’s the amount I could lose entirely without it affecting my life? That’s my limit.
3️⃣ Allocation: The breakdown of asset classes we agreed on in the diversification lesson — written as percentages.
4️⃣ Entry and exit rules: When do I buy? (Regularly using DCA? At carefully considered levels?) And when do I sell? (At a specific target? With a set stop-loss?) — Your written rule is what will guide you when emotions run high.
5️⃣ Review date: Once a month or once a quarter — review the plan itself, rather than changing it with every news story.
This page is the difference between an investor with a strategy and a spectator jumping around with the market. Write it today — seriously, today.
Bottom line: A goal, time frame, amount, entry and exit rules, and a review schedule — five written answers that turn you from an anxious spectator into someone with a strategy.
