Zimbabwe's mineral export revenue rose from $2.347 billion in the same period last year to $4.73 billion, according to an email statement from the Zimbabwe Mining Marketing Corporation. According to Sina Finance, the increase was driven by stronger commodity prices and higher lithium shipments.
Total mineral shipments increased from 3.84 million tons to 4.738 million tons. General Manager Nomusa Moyo said at a briefing that lithium had replaced platinum group metals as the largest source of revenue during the period. September sales reached $685.03 million, up 117% year on year.
