AIOT Perpetuals Fall 25% in 24 Hours: Contract Quantity Rises 16%, While Notional OI Contracts

AIOTUSDT is currently around 0.03871 USDT, down 25.21% over the past 24 hours. This move cannot be explained simply as longs entering because the “number of contracts increased”: as of 17:05 Beijing time on October 8, 2026, the open contract quantity on Binance USDⓈ-M had risen about 16.3% from roughly 30 hours earlier, but the notional open interest, based on the value returned by the API, had instead fallen about 15.2%. With prices falling and notional leverage contracting, the short-term outlook should be treated as weak; don’t trade responsible position management for speculation about catching the bottom.

First, look at a few recently closed cycles: The most recent closed 4-hour K-line was at 0.04309 USDT, with trading volume of about 1.7863 million USDT, which is 5.70 times the average of the previous 20 closed 4-hour K-lines; the most recent closed 1-hour K-line was at 0.03977 USDT, with trading volume of about 433,600 USDT, which is 1.93 times the average of the previous 20; the most recent closed daily (1D) K-line was at 0.04654 USDT, with trading volume of about 4.1291 million USDT, approximately 1.54 times the average of the previous 20. The current price is already below the close of the most recent closed 1-hour K-line, indicating that short-term volume expansion has not translated into a confirmed rebound structure.

We also need to break down the contract data. Over roughly the past 30 hours, the number of open positions increased from about 45.1331 million to about 52.5096 million, but the notional value of open positions fell from about 2.4643 million USDT to about 2.0894 million USDT. Quantity increased while value decreased. This mainly reflects changes in contract structure under a price-down environment, so it cannot be directly equated with “large-scale long positioning.” The latest funding rate is about +0.005% per 4 hours. Even though the rate is positive, it does not mean that the decline has ended.

My observation levels are: around 0.0380, first see whether it can stop the sell-off in a new recently closed 1-hour K-line. If it continues to close below that level, the bearish continuation thesis holds. For the rebound, first check whether 0.03977 can be reclaimed and held, and then look at the most recent closed 4-hour close at 0.04309. Only if 0.04309 is reclaimed again and accompanied by sustained volume/traction is it worth discussing repair on a higher level. A wick intraday that breaks through or a quick snap-back momentarily is not confirmation.

Risk warning: For AIOTUSDT, no corresponding spot trading pair was found in Binance’s public spot API. The above content only discusses Binance USDⓈ-M perpetual contracts; it should not be used as grounds to treat the perpetual price as a basis for spot execution. Volatility and slippage for small-cap coins can be significantly amplified. Funding rate, OI, and trading volume are observation indicators, not a guarantee of returns. This article does not constitute investment advice. Any trade should first determine your maximum loss you can tolerate and set invalidation conditions.
