According to Jin10, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said on October 7 that Iran and Oman had reached agreement on the geographic coordinates of a safe passage in the Strait of Hormuz and on the procedures for registering it with relevant international organizations. He made the remarks while discussing the latest progress in Iran-U.S. talks, saying Iran had clearly and firmly set out its considerations and conditions for ending the war and restoring security in the Persian Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz. He added that Iran's response to the U.S. proposal would be conveyed through the mediator.
