Binance futures liquidations over the past hour totaled $3.28 million: $658,000 in longs (20%) and $2.62 million in shorts.
After a liquidation event, I usually look at three things:
① Who got liquidated the most: mostly shorts, meaning the upward move forced a wave of short covering;
② Where liquidations were most concentrated: $ETH ($1.1 million). It often sees the biggest moves next;
③ Whether open interest fell afterward: a drop means leverage was genuinely flushed out; no drop means more leverage is entering.
Watching how open interest changes can help you judge whether a move is backed by real money or fueled by sentiment.
