The latest campaign from @Acurast × @EchoHunt_ai has been getting a lot of attention. I’ve noticed that the question people are discussing most is:
What gives $ACU its value?
After all, the prize pool this time is 200,000 $ACU, so the token’s price directly affects how participants feel. When the price rises a little, everyone gets more excited; when it pulls back, the discussion dies down almost immediately.
But if you focus only on the price, it’s easy to overlook what Acurast is actually doing.
I prefer to think of it this way: it turns idle computing power in the real world into a network resource that can be accessed, verified, and settled.
One of Acurast’s biggest advantages is that it turns ordinary phones into compute nodes. The network has already connected hundreds of thousands of devices across multiple countries. When developers need computing power, they can run tasks on the network.
That’s when the value proposition for $ACU becomes clearer:
Someone needs computing power → someone provides it → the network handles verification and settlement → $ACU ties this whole economic system together.
And the ecosystem isn’t sustained simply by “issuing tokens.”
Real tasks generate fees, some of which are burned; meanwhile, nodes and stakers earn rewards by providing reliable computing power. In other words, the more the network is used, the more its token utility may grow.
Of course, mechanisms like inflation, staking, and the treasury also affect the supply and demand for $ACU. That’s something I think is worth monitoring over the long term.
So when I look at $ACU, I don’t just ask:
“Will it go up soon?”
What I’m more interested in is:
How many real tasks are running? How much computing power is actually being used? Are developers willing to keep using it?
Campaigns can draw attention, but what really determines whether a DePIN project can go the distance is whether there’s genuine demand.
So I’ll keep participating in this @Acurast campaign, while also keeping an eye on the network data.
Short-term prices reflect market sentiment; long-term value comes down to whether people are actually using it.
That may be what makes $ACU most worth paying attention to.
