Solana Foundation Vice President of Technology Jacob Creech said Solana users do not need to enter bunker mode, even if the quantum timeline accelerates or an AI classical attack emerges. According to Foresight News, he said Solana uses Ed25519, with each signing key derived from a hashed secret seed, and that any quantum or classical attack that breaks the curve would expose the derived key rather than the seed, which never appears on-chain.

The comments came after Ethereum researcher Justin Drake urged the blockchain industry to begin planning calmly for bunker mode and suggested an orderly migration of assets to new addresses whose public keys remain hidden behind hashes. He said holders of large assets could consider moving first, and argued that AI could threaten private keys and ECDSA security before quantum computing does.
