There’s a recent signal around Ethereum that may be more worth watching than its price decline:

Institutional funds are continuing to pull out of ETH.

Data shows that on October 7, U.S. spot ETH ETFs saw combined net outflows of about $161 million, marking 7 consecutive days of outflows.

BlackRock’s ETHA saw outflows of about $116 million in a single day, while Grayscale’s ETHE saw outflows of about $25.77 million.

Put simply:

ETH is falling, and ETFs are seeing outflows—and this isn’t just a day or two; it’s been happening for a full week.

What’s even more notable is that during the previous wave, ETH ETFs attracted about $850 million over 7 consecutive days, before the flow of funds reversed.

Meanwhile, BTC ETFs have performed relatively better. This suggests that institutions aren’t leaving the crypto market entirely, but may be reallocating in a different direction.

Of course, ETF outflows don’t mean institutions have completely turned bearish on ETH, nor can they be directly equated with large-scale selling in the spot market.

📌 What’s really worth watching is whether outflows from ETH ETFs continue, and when institutional funds might return to ETH.

If BTC continues to attract funds while ETH ETFs keep seeing outflows, the divergence in capital flows between BTC and ETH could become a very important market signal in the days ahead.
