I heard that Cointelegraph, one of the crypto industry’s leading media outlets, has started looking for buyers after its traffic plummeted.

LOL, it’s the same script every year: during bull markets, they tell retail investors to go all in and publish increasingly outrageous headlines; then the bear market hits, and the first ones who can’t hold on are the people selling the shovels. Media outlets that rely on bull-market traffic can’t even keep themselves afloat in a bear market—so why expect them to teach you how to weather the cycles?

I have to say, this is the industry’s most honest barometer. Exchanges can dress up their financial reports, KOLs can delete posts and disappear, but a media outlet putting itself up for sale is hard to hide. Traffic doesn’t lie. When the crowds leave and the buzz dies down, content is the first thing to go cold.
