I’ve just started looking into @Acurast

and the first thing that caught my attention is not $ACU

It’s the idea of turning smartphones into part of a decentralized compute network.

We’re used to thinking about cloud computing as something that happens inside massive data centers.

Acurast takes a different approach.

Instead of relying entirely on centralized servers, its Processor network allows smartphones to provide compute for workloads such as APIs, automation, data processing and AI inference.

The interesting part is the TEE.

It gives the execution environment hardware-backed isolation, so workloads can run in a more secure and verifiable way.

So, in simple terms:

Traditional cloud → rent compute from centralized providers.

Acurast → source compute from a distributed network of devices.

For me, this makes Acurast more interesting than simply “another DePIN where you run a device and earn rewards.”

The bigger question is whether this distributed compute can attract real workloads and create real demand.

That’s the part I want to dig into next.

I’ll be looking deeper into Acurast’s TEE architecture, AI × DePIN opportunity, how the Processor actually works, and where $ACU fits into the network.

This is research, not financial advice. DYOR
