📰 On October 7, Eastern Time, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw total net outflows of $487 million in a single day—a significant amount. The withdrawals weren’t concentrated in just one product; all the leading ETFs saw notable outflows.

🔥 BlackRock’s IBIT recorded the largest net outflow, at $208 million, followed by Fidelity’s FBTC at $105 million. Together, the two products saw $313 million in outflows, accounting for a large share of the day’s total.

To be fair, a single day of outflows isn’t the same as a long-term withdrawal of funds. IBIT still has cumulative historical net inflows of $65.717 billion, while FBTC has $10.716 billion. This shows that the amount of capital accumulated over time remains substantial; the outflows may simply reflect concentrated profit-taking or portfolio rebalancing on that particular day.

💡 As of publication, total net assets in spot Bitcoin ETFs stood at $107.401 billion, the ETF net asset ratio was 6.41%, and cumulative historical net inflows totaled $57.330 billion. Short-term funds are starting to flow out, but the long-term figures haven’t yet been completely reshaped by this one day.

🤔 Do you think this looks more like short-term institutional rebalancing, or the beginning of a sustained period of outflows from ETFs?
