**🍕 The most expensive pizzas in history are still being “digested” to this day**

On 05/22/2010, a programmer paid **10,000 BTC for two pizzas** (about US$41 at the time). It was the first purchase of a real-world product with Bitcoin, and the date became known as “Bitcoin Pizza Day.”

Now, let’s do the math using today’s price (~US$82,900 / ~R$417,000 per BTC):

🍕 **10,000 BTC ≈ US$829 million**
đŸ‡§đŸ‡· **≈ R$4.17 billion**
🍕 Each pizza: **~R$2 billion**
đŸ”Ș Each slice (8 per pizza): **~R$260 million**

And there’s more: even with BTC ~34% below its all-time high (~US$126,000, in October 2025), each slice is still worth more than many publicly traded companies.

**The curious lesson:** Bitcoin’s price goes up and down, but the “opportunity cost” of a decision made in 2010 only becomes clear years later. 😅

But don’t forget: anyone who got in in 2010 had to ride out drops of 80% or more, several times. Making money with BTC took nerves of steel, not just good timing.

**Question:** if you could go back to 2010 with US$41, would you trade it for pizza or Bitcoin? 👇🍕₿
