Abstract withdrawal warning: Avoid these pitfalls
I just got back from being out and saw that Abstract had gone under. I’ve been at it for over two years, and it’s been nothing but an expensive lesson. I’ve got a thousand “fuck this” thoughts running through my head.
1. Swap all the assets in your Abstract wallet, such as PENGU and absETH, into ETH. Don’t leave a single cent on the chain.
2. It’s best not to use the official bridge for cross-chain transfers—you can only bridge to Ethereum mainnet, and then you still have to wait. I used Relay, and it arrived instantly.
3. Transfer the ETH on the Abstract chain to your EVM address using a different wallet. Get this step wrong, and your assets are gone.
4. There are tons of NFTs on-chain. Transferring them is pointless and just wastes gas, so leave them for the dogs.
I’ve moved all my assets to the BASE chain. I have over 20 accounts, with roughly 200+ U in total. Go withdraw yours—don’t wait until December.
