Institutional fund flows diverge sharply: $BTC attracts inflows, while $ETH sees continued outflows!
Data for October 6 (ET) shows a striking split 👇
✅ Spot Bitcoin ETFs: $119 million in net inflows
❌ Ethereum ETFs: $201.9 million in net outflows
The contrast between two BlackRock products is stark!
IBIT (BTC ETF) attracted $122 million in a single day
$ETHA.ETF (ETH ETF), by contrast, saw $202 million in outflows
And ETH ETFs have now seen six straight days of outflows!
The on-chain data is even more interesting:
Only 6.5% of BTC supply remains on exchanges. In one day, 24,073 BTC were withdrawn from exchanges—the largest outflow in nearly seven months.
Put simply: there are fewer and fewer spot coins available to sell at any moment, as more Bitcoin is gradually being locked up by long-term holders.
On one side, institutions keep buying BTC and supply keeps moving into long-term hands; on the other, ETH is seeing consecutive reductions in holdings, with funds being pulled out and reallocated elsewhere.
The key question:
Is this just temporary noise from short-term institutional portfolio rebalancing?
Or will this divergence in fund flows continue through the next quarter?
What do you think will happen next with this split in fund flows? Let’s talk in the comments 🤝 Follow for real-time discussion!
