Public filings show that David Ellison and his family invested about $17 billion to complete Paramount Skydance's acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery. According to Sina Finance, the filings said David Ellison, the son of Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, and his family subscribed for about 1.4 billion shares in the stock offering at $12 per share.

The merged company has been renamed Skydance Corp. A company spokesperson declined to comment. Since the merger closed on Tuesday, Skydance shares have fallen about 9%.

The $110 billion acquisition deal involved $47 billion in equity investment. Three Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds had planned to contribute $24 billion, RedBird Capital Partners invested $4 billion, and South Korean retailer Shinsegae Group invested $1 billion.
