According to Techub News, Calix, founder of crypto tax compliance platform FinTax, revealed on a podcast that the company has received an investment from Yzi Labs and is shifting its focus to enterprise and government clients, whose needs are more pressing. Calix said that the crypto industry has long developed faster than legal and regulatory frameworks, leaving businesses frequently facing compliance challenges. Calix believes that the crypto-asset tax information exchange framework is similar to a crypto version of the CRS. For now, it mainly addresses the collection and exchange of cross-border tax information, while actual taxation remains subject to the local tax laws of each jurisdiction. Because the framework covers only a limited range of scenarios and leaves many areas, such as DeFi, out of scope, crypto tax regulation is still at an early stage, and opportunities for “regulatory arbitrage” will persist for a long time. Discussing IPOs by Web3 companies, Calix used a crypto payments company as an example to explain how FinTax helps businesses navigate complex cross-border finance, tax, and audit issues through services and products such as financial and tax consulting, an ERP system compatible with both crypto and traditional fiat currencies, and an audit platform.
