Open interest in the $SOL contract is now 8.58 million—this figure is much more interesting than the price.

When I watch $SOL , I have a habit of looking at open interest and price side by side. Price is the result; open interest is the cause: only when people are willing to put money on the table does the market have the confidence to move higher. When the money quietly pulls out, even if the price keeps jumping, it’s just an empty shell.

When the two move in the same direction, the trend is relatively credible. When they diverge, it’s time to be more cautious. Put simply, rising open interest means people are placing bets; falling open interest means some are giving up and leaving the game. Many people focus only on the price line, overlooking who’s entering and who’s exiting behind the scenes. The most costly lessons in the market often come from watching price without paying attention to market structure.

So now I’d rather ask one question first: Is the money still there? Price can deceive; open interest is relatively honest.
