The Reserve Bank of New Zealand has begun recruiting for a Deputy Governor for monetary policy and a Deputy Governor for payments and cash operations. According to Sina Finance, the new roles were created because Deputy Governor Karen Silk, who is responsible for monetary affairs, will leave in mid-December.

The central bank said the new positions are intended to strengthen leadership, clarify responsibilities, and support closer coordination across its core functions. It expects applicants from within the bank, as well as from New Zealand and overseas, and has hired Heidrick & Struggles to handle recruitment and selection for the two roles.
