When retail investors hear Justin Drake’s warning, many will probably want to adjust their positions. In fact, the only thing they should change is their address.

Ethereum Foundation researcher Justin Drake says AI-driven mathematics could break cryptographic signatures before quantum computers do. His advice to holders is to calmly move their funds to an address they haven’t used before. Selling doesn’t come up in his advice, nor does reducing exposure. There’s just one step: change addresses.

The warning is about signatures, not positions.

Confuse the two, and the warning may be read as a signal to exit—even though the only solution it offers is to change addresses. If future guidance actually recommends selling or reducing exposure, then this assessment no longer holds.
