“It is crucial for our industrial economy”: 15,000 tonnes of aluminum sent from Venezuela have arrived in the US

This operation is part of the diplomatic and commercial rapprochement between the governments of Venezuela and the US to boost the Venezuelan economy in various sectors.

US Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum reported that the 15,000 metric tonnes of aluminum shipped from Venezuela had arrived in the United States.

In that regard, he commented on social media that “aluminum is fundamental to a modern industrial economy,” adding that the metal is used in televisions, cars, airplanes, phones, power lines, and household appliances.

He said this was the first shipment of aluminum to arrive in the US from Venezuela in nearly a decade and stressed that it is “crucial to our modern industrial economy and the success of the American Energy Dominance Agenda.”

It is important to note that CVG Venalum, a state-owned company affiliated with the Venezuelan Corporation of Guayana, exported the 15,000 metric tonnes of aluminum to the North American nation last month.
