【Market Flash】Ethereum has launched an unprecedented, high-intensity scaling experiment on a testnet to pave the way for future upgrades to the mainnet.
Ethereum developers have raised the block gas limit on the Sepolia testnet to 200 million, more than three times the previous target of 60 million. This stress test is being conducted alongside the next major mainnet upgrade, codenamed Glamsterdam. Its primary goal is to assess how stable clients and validators remain when execution workloads on Layer 1 increase significantly. The performance data gathered from the test will directly inform the pace and design of subsequent mainnet scaling plans.
