Anthropic launches Claude Haiku 5.5, a small AI model with average operating costs about 75% lower than Haiku 4.5, according to the company.

For prompts of up to 100,000 tokens, input costs $0.10 per million tokens and output costs $0.50 per million tokens. Anthropic describes Haiku 5.5 as its fastest, cheapest, and most capable small AI model to date.

Claude Haiku 5.5 is now available on the Claude, AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure platforms. The model is primarily designed for high-volume, cost-sensitive tasks such as summarization, classification, and running sub-agents.

Anthropic also cut the price of reading Sonnet 5.5's cache by 50%.
