According to Jin10, Anthropic launched Claude Haiku 5.5, calling it the company's fastest and most capable small model to date for high-frequency, cost-sensitive use cases such as summarization, classification, database queries, customer service, browser operations, and AI agent subtasks. Anthropic said Haiku 5.5's average running cost is about 75% lower than Haiku 4.5, with input and output prices for requests under 100,000 tokens set at $0.10 and $0.50 per million tokens, respectively, and that adjustable reasoning intensity is being introduced in the Haiku series for the first time. It also cut Sonnet 5.5 cache read pricing by half to $0.10 per million tokens, saying this can reduce costs for most of its agent tasks by about 20%. Haiku 5.5 is now available on Claude Platform, AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.
