While writing an article about criteria for choosing altcoins this season, I noticed a clear divide between the different altcoin groups. See if you agree!

This classification excludes newly launched low-cap coins and short-term pump-and-dump coins, and only includes coins in the top 200

💠 Group 1: Strong performers that have surpassed their levels from before the 10/10 crash, lead the market, and drive trends

Examples include $HYPE, $MORPHO, $NEAR, $ZEC, $CARD, ...

➡️ What these coins have in common is that they hold their value very well and tend to perform strongly when they pump. They’re often trend leaders, like HYPE with perpdex and ZEC with privacy

💠 Group 2: Recovering, with solid growth of 2x–3x.

Examples include $BNB, $LINK, $ETH, $SOL, $ONDO, $AAVE, ...

➡️ What these coins have in common is that they’ve recovered strongly and are trading above the MA200, though they’re still far below their pre-crash prices. Take $AAVE, for example: even after doubling from its bottom, it’s still quite far from its level before the 10/10 crash.

💠 Group 3: Still weak; the long-term trend hasn’t recovered yet.

Examples include $EIGEN, $OP, $DOT, $STRK, $APT, ...

➡️ What these coins have in common is that although they’ve bounced, the recovery has been quite weak. This may be because they fell so hard in the previous period—down fivefold or even tenfold.

💠 As of now, congratulations to everyone still holding Group 1 and 2 coins. A little sad for those in Group 3. Market conditions have improved lately, but we still need to keep a close eye on things.
