In October, Shielded Labs announced Epoch, a new research and engineering project aimed at preparing Zcash for emerging threats such as quantum computing, advanced AI, increasingly sophisticated hackers, and government-sponsored attacks.

This could be an extremely important narrative in the coming years.

Imagine a scenario in which Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other blockchains have to accelerate their own efforts to address advances in quantum computing.

In that scenario, projects already working ahead on post-quantum cryptography could gain renewed relevance.

And Zcash has already officially added this problem to its agenda.
