Tesla plans to unveil its long-delayed Roadster supercar on October 15 in Waco, Texas. According to Sina Finance, customers who reserved the car were required to pay at least $50,000, and some paid more to secure a place on the waiting list.
The new Roadster is the successor to Tesla's original sports car and was first announced in November 2017. Tesla initially said production would begin in 2020, but that did not happen. The company has not disclosed the final price.
Tesla has said the new Roadster will be its last human-driven car, while its future focus shifts to humanoid robots. Tesla did not respond to a request for comment.
