After making a new low, price generally takes one of three paths:
① It rebounds to touch the previous low, then falls: weakness continues
② It moves sideways near the previous low: a shift in trading activity; direction remains to be seen
③ It quickly recovers the previous low and holds above it: a false breakdown
It is currently below the previous low, so first we’ll see whether it follows ① or ②.
