Over the past 24 hours (as of around 8:45 a.m. Beijing time on October 7), $TRB was trading at about $22.72, up roughly 12.9%. It hit a 24-hour low of $19.80 and a high of $23.60, with trading volume about twice its usual level. Over the same period, another oracle token, API3, also rose about 10%, suggesting inflows across the oracle sector.

Tellor is a decentralized oracle network that securely brings off-chain data, such as prices, onto the blockchain for use by DeFi protocols like lending platforms and derivatives. Recent developments include a mainnet upgrade, the launch of a secure two-way TRB cross-chain bridge, and integration with more trading platforms.

However, there’s no clear project-specific catalyst behind this rally. More likely, it’s a combination of rotation into altcoins and a short-term speculative squeeze. TRB has a relatively small circulating supply and is historically known as a “wild” coin, with repeated episodes of sharp rallies and crashes over short periods, as well as futures-market moves that liquidate both longs and shorts.

My view: Oracles are foundational infrastructure for DeFi, and the sector itself is sound. However, Tellor still lags far behind the sector leaders in market share, adoption, and liquidity, so its fundamentals offer relatively limited support. The rise in volume shows that capital is taking an interest, but rallies without a news catalyst are usually of questionable staying power. If you participate, consider keeping your position small, moving in and out quickly, and setting strict stop-losses. In particular, stay away from highly leveraged futures—TRB’s sudden price wicks have previously liquidated both longs and shorts.
