A look at the top altcoins after last year’s massive 10/10 sell-off
It’s been almost a year since crypto’s biggest liquidation event. Let’s group altcoins into three categories based on how well they’ve recovered!
We’re only looking at coins in the top 200, excluding small-cap coins and short-lived pump-and-dumps.
Strong: already above their pre-crash prices
$HYPE, $MORPHO, $NEAR, $ZEC, $CARD...
These coins have held their value very well and tend to perform strongly during pumps. They often lead the trend, like $HYPE with PerpDex and $ZEC with privacy coins...
Good recovery, but still below previous levels
$BNB, $LINK, $ETH, $SOL, $ONDO, $AAVE...
These coins have recovered significantly and are trading above the 200-day moving average, but they’re still well below their pre-crash prices.
Weak recovery: still in a long-term downtrend
$EIGEN, $OP, $DOT, $STRK, $APT...
They’ve risen along with the market, but their recovery has been weak. This may be because they fell much further during the previous downturn—losing 80% or even 90% of their value—and because they haven’t had a new narrative.
