Wait, what happened—did Claude get a whole new look overnight?
I opened it up and the entire page was in Simplified Chinese; China was available in the country/region selector; and UnionPay was showing up in the payment options.
My first reaction wasn’t excitement. I was just confused.
Because it’s banned several of my accounts over the past six months, and the pattern is especially weird: as soon as I top up, the account is gone that same day. But the little accounts where I haven’t spent a cent and just freeload? They’re still alive and kicking.
And now, all of a sudden, the doors are open, the language is localized into Chinese, and even domestic bank cards are supported—
So has Anthropic finally come around, or are they planning something big??
Has anyone already tried linking a card? Let me know if you can actually complete a payment. I’m keeping my hands off the buttons for now.
