$BTC Falls Below $84K After Failed $87K Rally – $570M Liquidated

Bitcoin tumbled below $84,000 on Oct 2, 2026, just hours after briefly topping $87,200 – its highest in 10 days.

$BTC is currently trading around $84,111 down 1.77% on the day after hitting a low of $83,577.

What happened?
BTC initially pumped from $86K to $87,200 after the US jobs report showed only 29K new jobs vs expectations, fueling Fed rate-cut hopes. The rally was quickly rejected and BTC lost over $3,000 in hours.

The sharp reversal triggered massive liquidations. Total crypto liquidations crossed $570M in 24 hours, with $186M wiped out in a single hour. Longs accounted for 99% of liquidations.

Despite the dip, institutional demand remains strong. US Spot Bitcoin ETFs added $347M in inflows on the same day, extending their streak to 5 days with $2.65B total inflows.

Analysts are now watching $82,833 and $81K-$82K as the next key support zone if selling continues.

Is this a healthy correction or start of a deeper pullback?
