13 years later, the Winklevoss twins are back in the ETF battle!

This time, they’re betting on Zcash.
Winklevoss Asset Services has filed an S-1 registration statement with the U.S. SEC for the Winklevoss Zcash ETF, which it plans to list on Nasdaq under the ticker WINK.

A few key points:
👉 The ETF will hold ZEC directly
👉 Gemini will custody the ZEC
👉 The proposed annual management fee is 0.25%
👉 Winklevoss Capital has expressed interest in purchasing up to $100 million worth of shares, but this indication of interest is currently non-binding.

What’s even more interesting:
This isn’t the Winklevoss twins’ first attempt at a spot ETF.
Back in 2013, the brothers pushed for a U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF application.
Now, 13 years later, they’re making another move—but this time, their target is Zcash, a player in the privacy sector.

Grayscale has already launched a spot Zcash ETF, and Bitwise has also filed an application. The Winklevosses’ entry means competition among institutional ZEC ETFs is heating up.
Of course, filing an application ≠ SEC approval.

But one thing is already clear:
Zcash is moving from a “privacy coin narrative” to a new battleground for institutional ETF competition.
