One side is frantically building roads; the other has no passengers.
What stablecoins have always lacked isn’t technology or regulatory approval, but the “network externalities of money”—payers and recipients have to switch over at the same time. Convince only half, and the network is worth nothing.
The real turning point won’t be when some license is granted, but when your supplier asks you, unprompted, “Can you pay in USDT?”
Until then, all the good news is just road-building costs.
