The biggest misconception beginners have is that if you're not holding a position, you're not trading. So they stay fully invested, constantly buying and selling,
until fees and market swings wear away their capital.
In reality, staying flat is the only position with zero losses. If you can't make sense of the market, stay flat.
Staying flat in a market where bulls and bears are battling, or after a string of losing trades—
the money you save in those moments can exceed what most trades earn.
You may be tired of hunting metaphors, but the point stands: hunters spend most of their time waiting. Pulling the trigger
takes just a second. Keep your capital ready, and when an opportunity comes, you'll have bullets to fire. Hold on to your bullets.
