The U.S. session is opening, and there’s a lot to take in tonight.
The biggest news: the Winklevoss brothers filed an S-1 with the SEC for a spot ZEC ETF, planning to list it on Nasdaq under the ticker WINK. Even privacy coins are being packaged into ETFs now. That signal matters more than whether $ZEC itself goes up or down—the Street is absorbing one narrative after another and turning them into products.
The macro picture isn’t looking good: U.S. Treasury yields hit a new 24-year high, with the 10-year at 5.34%. Markets are even pricing in a rate hike in December. In this environment, $BTC $ETH is unlikely to move independently in the near term; it’ll be dancing to the tune of rates and the dollar. Gold fell below 4,200, but ETFs are still seeing steady net inflows—safe-haven demand is real.
Two other details worth noting: Saylor used STRC’s IPO proceeds to buy another 21,021 $BTC —the institutional accumulation hasn’t stopped at all. And Arbitrum adopted Paxos’s USDG as its ecosystem dollar, while ether.fi is also issuing a token under a white-label deal with Ethena. Platforms with distribution capabilities are starting to “rent” stablecoins instead of issuing their own—the right to issue them is becoming commoditized.
Sentiment is cold, but the infrastructure is still being built. That’s my biggest takeaway tonight.
