Dry bulk shipping index falls to six-week low

The Baltic Exchange's dry bulk shipping index fell to a six-week low on Tuesday, driven by declining rates for Capesize vessels.

The Baltic's main index, which tracks rates for Capesize, Panamax and Supramax vessels, fell 68 points, or 2.2%, to settle at 3,002 points. This was the index's weakest level since 25/08.

The Capesize index fell 195 points, or 4%, to 4,638 points, its lowest level since 21/08.
