CoinShares surveyed 2,230 investors with >$500K in investable assets, excluding real estate, in the US and six European countries.
• Crypto accounts for around 10% of portfolios, and on average 80% of crypto investors hold Bitcoin.
• Long-term investing > speculation: On average, 41% of those currently investing in crypto cite long-term growth and diversification as their main motivations; only 19% cite speculation.
• Macroeconomic factors > technical analysis: Interest rates and inflation were cited by 47% as factors driving investment, compared with 36% for technical analysis.
• Still want to increase their allocation: This share reached at least 85% in 5 of the 7 markets, at the time of the survey in May–June.
