The bottom line: Bitcoin saw $60.26 million in liquidations over 24 hours, 70% of them from longs. Chasing the rally proved costly, with those positions going down first.
Total liquidations across the market during the same period reached $169 million, with Bitcoin alone accounting for about 36%. Ethereum ranked second with $25.12 million in liquidations, while RLC and ZEC each topped $10 million. Leverage pressure is clearly more concentrated in major coins.
The largest single liquidation was an $11.75 million Binance long position, liquidated near $84,775. Bitcoin long liquidations totaled $42.09 million, nearly 2.3 times the $18.16 million in short liquidations. This looks more like a concentrated flush after longs became overcrowded than a full takeover by bears.
