Mastercard is integrating a new stablecoin.
The company is integrating support for $OUSD, the new stablecoin from @openstandard, through BVNK, its payments infrastructure.
Businesses will be able to use $OUSD to make payments and settlements without having to change their existing systems.
They’ll also be able to issue and redeem $OUSD 1:1 for dollars with no fees through BVNK, Stripe, and Visa.
The stablecoin is backed by Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe, and Visa, with more than $1 billion committed for initial liquidity.
The stablecoin is already live on Ethereum, #Solana, Base, and Tempo.
Major payment networks seem to be increasingly convinced: stablecoins are moving from being a crypto alternative to becoming global financial infrastructure.
