According to Techub News, the community of decentralized credit protocol Clearpool passed a governance vote with 97.16% support, approving its expansion to the XRP Ledger and plans to migrate its native token CPOOL at a 1:1 ratio to a new token, CLEAR, on XRPL. The migration is expected to take place in the fourth quarter, with an initial circulating supply of 1.1 billion CLEAR. Clearpool will work with Ripple and Cicada Partners to provide working capital loans to fintech companies, payment processors, and others. Its loan products will be settled using Ripple’s US dollar stablecoin RLUSD, while XRP will be used only to pay network fees. The protocol plans to use half of its fees to buy back and burn CLEAR, but this will not directly create demand for XRP. Clearpool has facilitated more than $930 million in loans since 2021, and Cicada has underwritten more than $860 million. The expansion aims to bring institutional credit infrastructure to XRPL; the related technical proposals (XLS-65 and XLS-66) are currently under revision. (Clearpool)
