Strive Buys 2,000 Bitcoin for $169 Million
Bitcoin treasury firm Strive has purchased another 2,000 BTC for approximately $169 million, marking its largest Bitcoin acquisition since June. The purchases were made between September 28 and October 2 at an average cost of about $84,422 per Bitcoin, including fees and expenses.
The latest acquisition increased Strive’s total Bitcoin holdings to 29,462 BTC, up from 27,462 BTC a week earlier. The company’s growing treasury puts it increasingly close to major corporate Bitcoin holders.
Strive CEO Matt Cole said 61.5% of the capital raised during the week came through SATA, the company’s variable-rate perpetual preferred stock, while warrant exercises generated an additional $56.7 million.
The purchase highlights Strive’s continued strategy of using its balance sheet and capital markets to expand its Bitcoin holdings. The company has positioned Bitcoin as its benchmark for capital allocation, aiming to increase Bitcoin exposure on a per-share basis over the long term.
The move also comes as competition among corporate Bitcoin treasury companies intensifies. Strive’s latest purchase was nearly six times larger than Strategy’s most recent 334 BTC acquisition during its latest buying period.
With nearly 29,500 BTC now in its treasury, Strive is strengthening its position among publicly traded companies pursuing Bitcoin-focused treasury strategies.$MSFTB $NVDAB
