5067309 ETH
That’s how much Bitmine has staked as of October 4. Exactly the same amount as on September 27. And the week before that, too.
But the crypto.news headline says “stakes $13.8 billion.” You read it as new staking. But no new coins were staked—it’s just $ETH
valued at $2726 each.
What actually changed is that purchases are dwindling:
- the week ending September 20: 27562 ETH
- ending September 27: 17362
- ending October 4: 15112
They have 6016414 ETH in total, which is 4.9% of all ETH. The target is 5%, so there’s not much left to go—and gas fees have already come down.
I don’t hold ETH; I’m watching this like a thermometer :)
The next report comes out in a week. I’ll check whether the staked amount has moved and post here—follow if you’re interested.
